Singapore Design Festival 2007

Walking into the former High Court at Padang where the festival was being held. From the facade, without being told or announced about its greatness, many would still misunderstood the brilliant ideas that has been specifically collected by various designers, are actually gathering in that whole lot building for a show. Yet some would still think it is a place that scales the crimes and justice in Singapore. ( wahlau eh, they moved olready leh!)
It was a very impressive tour, seeing the best designs in each of their respective rooms. Especially the knowledgeable - “a collection of useless ideas” called Utterubbish. Expressing its products and designs in a wide range of highly categorized qualities.
Crafts-mans with the branch of skilled handiworks are also selling their innovations. Not does the price tag matters, but the importance and value of its acumen. Indeed admirable i would comment.
So its healthy to penetrates into those courtrooms and comes out with a mindful of knowledge about all their inspiring designs, than wondering what you have in your very own idealistic world.
Maybe you can try forgetting a fashion exhibition , or skipping a bikini show, but try not to miss this festival because ideas for most designs comes from there first. If not, why does it called so?? The high court closes at 8th of Dec, and after your visit, who knows your next big design could be published on the magazines before it returns again. Maybe in… 2 years time??
